Alter the picture Slide show timings in Windows XP

Use any of the following methods to to change Windows Fax and Picture Viewer Slideshow Timing.
Using Tweak UI PowerToy

• Download and install Tweak UI for your XP SP level
• Start Tweak UI, and click the (+) sign near Explorer
• Click the sub-tree named Slide show
• In the right-pane, alter the timeout value accordingly.

(Note that the the value is in milli-seconds)

Using a direct registry edit

• Type regedit.exe in Start, Run dialog.  Navigate to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ ShellImageView

• Create a new REG_DWORD named Timeout  (skip this if the value already exists)
• Double-click Timeout and select the Decimal base
• Type the value (milliseconds).

For example 3000 implies 3 seconds timeout, and so forth.

• Close Registry Editor
